The company was founded in 2001 as an idea to bring together the more than 100 MAN years of domain experience and expertise in Software Development and Medical Diagnostics. The goal was to create cost effective, easy to use, practical and affordable software for Cytogenetics and Clinical medicine. Founded by members who have a strong background in Medicine, Oncology, Cytogenetic Diagnostics , Mathematical Analysis and Software Development. The company initially was located in India & USA is now completely relocated to Mumbai as its headquarters. Research and development division operates in Mumbai while the Image Processing Software Development division operates from Pune India.

Over the years Bjorn Biosystems has successfully developed multiple products in the field of medical imaging. CytoPro™  is a well known cytogenetic platform which consists of a suite of products including our flag ship products ProKaryo™ and ProFISH™ .ProKaryo™ is our Automated Karyotyping System and ProFISH™ is our Fluorescence In-situ Hybridization System. All products utilize our proprietary Advanced Pattern Recognition , APR Algorithms. Current test results show that these products are far superior to competitors in terms of accuracy of detection and diagnosis. Our self learning algorithm utilize modern non-parametric algorithms making it possible to improve diagnostics as the software system matures.

P-Tutor™  is our learning module which comes along with each product. This tool is by far the first tool to help new users to get to speed in terms of Domain expertise needed for improving the diagnosis by our software.

ProHemat, Haematology Image Analysis software is the latest and essential asset to all laboratories. It's ability to analyse images of peripheral blood and bone marrow is un-paralleled. Labs don’t need to invest in costly instruments. Simply, smears while being examined under microscope by laboratory personnel get automatically analysed. Differential counts of white blood cells are done automatically. Re-classification of these cells by expert can be done by just selecting short keys. Additional facilities of RBC and platelet analysis are also present. Each patient’s data with images can be stored (<10MB) and it can be retrieved at any time afterwards. As images get stored, sharing of images through different laboratories, clinicians and others is easily possible. Visualization of all WBC cells on large screen makes teaching easier.
